WJSN member Dayoung is drawing mixed reactions online after a close interaction with a male student during a university festival performance.

On October 3, a fancam from Dayoung’s appearance at Hanyang University began circulating across Korean online communities and social media.

In the video, Dayoung approached a male student during her performance and briefly sat on the edge of his chair while continuing to sing. The student then placed his hand around her waist and stomach area as part of the interaction.

Because Dayoung was wearing a crop top, the student’s hand appeared to make direct contact with her skin.

The moment quickly became a topic of debate online.

Some viewers defended the interaction as part of Dayoung’s fan service and stage performance, with comments such as “It’s just a performance” and “It’s fine because it’s fan service.”

Others felt the interaction went too far, questioning whether such close physical contact with an audience member was necessary during a university festival.

The divided reactions have turned the short fan interaction into a wider discussion about the boundaries of audience participation and fan service during live performances.

Dayoung has recently been focusing on her solo career. After making her solo debut with gonna love me, right?, she continued her activities with her second digital single What’s a girl to do in April.
