Son Ye Jin has opened up about protecting her young son’s privacy, revealing that she sometimes asks people to delete photos taken of him without permission.
During a recent interview related to Netflix’s "The Scandal", the actress explained why she and her husband Hyun Bin have chosen not to publicly reveal their son’s face.
Son Ye Jin said, *“People actually take photos secretly quite often, so I go over and ask them to delete them.”*
While acknowledging that public attention comes with being a celebrity, she said she feels differently when it involves their child.
*“My husband and I can’t really avoid it, but I don’t think our child’s face should be exposed like that,”* she explained.
Son Ye Jin said she worries that publicly identifying her son could affect his privacy as he grows older.
*“There will come a time when he wants to go around comfortably without us. If people recognize him, there could definitely be restrictions, so I’ve become sensitive about it,”* she added.
The actress also addressed comments she previously made on JTBC’s *Please Take Care of My Refrigerator*, where she jokingly praised her son’s appearance after being asked how she would feel if he wanted to become an actor someday.
Looking back, Son Ye Jin said the playful remark felt different once it appeared in written articles and clarified that she worried it could come across the wrong way.
Despite public curiosity surrounding the child, Son Ye Jin and Hyun Bin have continued to keep his face private.
Son Ye Jin married Hyun Bin in March 2022, and the couple welcomed their son later that year.
