BTS member Jimin gained more than 5 million TikTok followers without posting a single video, then finally surprised fans with his first upload featuring a performance of Be Mine.
Jimin shared the video on his personal TikTok account on September 28. Instead of an introduction or message, he chose to perform choreography to Be Mine, a track from his 2024 solo album MUSE.
The outdoor video shows Jimin dancing with a coastal landscape in the background. Rather than being an official music video, the clip focuses entirely on his performance and gives fans a clearer look at choreography for the song that had not previously been widely shown in full.
What makes the first post especially notable is the size of Jimin’s following before he uploaded anything.
His personal TikTok account was reportedly created around late August. After fans discovered the account, its follower count quickly increased despite having no public videos. By the time Jimin finally posted his first clip, more than 5 million people were already following him.
The response was immediate. About 22 hours after its release, the Be Mine performance had surpassed 5.3 million views and received more than 371,000 comments.
Fans also noticed Jimin using the hashtag “#thisisjimin,” which some connected to his previous dance-focused content.
Reactions across TikTok and other social platforms largely focused on finally seeing more of the Be Mine choreography, with comments such as “Finally Jimin posted a video” and “We finally get to see the Be Mine choreography.”
By choosing a dance performance as his first TikTok upload, Jimin made his debut on the platform with the type of content closely associated with his reputation as a performer, after more than 5 million followers had already been waiting for his first post.
