Woo Do Hwan revealed that an unexpected delay in filming Bloodhounds 2 ultimately gave him the chance to join Disney+ series Made in Korea.
The actor recently looked back on how he became part of the project, explaining that he originally did not expect to have a role because production had already begun while he was preparing for Bloodhounds 2.
However, his schedule suddenly changed.
“The filming schedule for ‘Bloodhounds 2’ was pushed back a little, and they asked if I would be willing to join even though my role in Season 1 wasn’t very large,” Woo Do Hwan said.
He accepted immediately.
“I wanted to do it right away. I remember thinking that an opportunity like this could come during a period when my schedule unexpectedly became open,” he added.
Rather than choosing the drama because of the size of his role, Woo Do Hwan said the opportunity to work with the cast and director was what attracted him.
“It wasn’t really that I chose it after reading the script. The entire setup was just too good,” he explained. “I wanted the opportunity to work with these senior actors and the director.”
Woo Do Hwan appeared as Baek Ki Hyun from the first season of Made in Korea and returned for an expanded role in Season 2.
He also described the production as an important experience in his career because it allowed him to work closely with several veteran actors after spending more than a decade frequently carrying projects as a leading actor.
Woo Do Hwan said working alongside Hyun Bin was particularly memorable, as he was able to play the younger brother of Hyun Bin’s character Baek Ki Tae.
Looking back, the actor said the experience gave him an opportunity to learn from how senior actors handled the pressure of leading a large production.
What initially looked like a simple scheduling delay for Bloodhounds 2 therefore became the opening that allowed Woo Do Hwan to take on another major project.
