Nam Joo Hyuk has revealed that his personality at home is very different from how he acts while working on set.
During a recent interview with W Korea, the actor shared that he has a clear separation between his professional life and his private time.
Nam Joo Hyuk explained, “My on and off switch is very clear. When I’m at home, I don’t really talk.”
According to the actor, he makes an effort to be more outgoing while filming, often talking with the people around him, joking, and helping keep the atmosphere lively.
However, once he returns home, he completely changes gears.
“On set, I try to talk a lot. I joke around and sometimes say silly things,” he said. “But when I get home, I just keep my mouth shut, turn on YouTube, and zone out without saying anything.”
Nam Joo Hyuk also discussed the physical demands of filming the Netflix series East Palace. Because the historical drama required heavy costumes and scenes involving water, he said the year-long filming process was challenging.
To stay in shape during production, he focused on exercise and taking vitamins.
The actor is already working on another project. He revealed that he has been filming a new production titled Code for several months and is preparing to show viewers a different side of himself.
Still, when filming ends for the day, Nam Joo Hyuk appears to prefer a much quieter routine, using his time at home to fully switch off and recharge.
