IU has revealed that her MBTI result changed from INFJ to INTJ, leading her to realize that she may be more of a Thinking type than a Feeling type.
During a recent appearance on the YouTube channel Jindol, IU shared the update for the first time and said she had been thinking about whether to talk about it publicly.
IU said, “I wasn’t sure if I should mention this, but this is the first time I’m saying it on a broadcast. I actually changed to T quite a while ago.”
She then added, “I’ve been INTJ for some time now.”
IU explained that she had long identified herself as INFJ, but people around her started telling her that she did not seem like an F type.
According to IU, some people close to her told her, “You don’t really seem like an F. It feels like you only try to be an F with certain people.”
She said they encouraged her to take the MBTI test again while answering as honestly as possible.
IU shared that she tends to show more of her Feeling side with only a small number of people, including her fans, Uaena, and actress Yoo In Na.
She explained, “They told me that with those people, I act more like an F, but otherwise they didn’t feel that way at all.”
After retaking the test several times, IU said she repeatedly received T results.
“At first I kept thinking, ‘No, I’m INFJ,’ because I had already gotten used to saying that,” she said. “But after getting T several times, I started thinking that maybe it actually fits me better.”
IU added that she has not taken the test again recently, but her last several results consistently showed her as a Thinking type.
Her comments gave fans a small update on how she currently sees her own personality, with IU now identifying more closely with INTJ than the INFJ result she previously shared.
