JYP Entertainment and founder J.Y. Park are receiving attention in Mexico after making a major donation to support medical treatment for children and teenagers with serious illnesses.

Major Mexican newspaper Excélsior featured the donation in its September 24 coverage, including a report on its front page. Mexican television news program Milenio also covered JYP Entertainment’s charity efforts and J.Y. Park’s activities during his visit to the country.

Through JYP Entertainment’s social contribution project EDM, short for Every Dream Matters, the company partnered with World Vision Mexico and World Vision Korea to provide specialized medical support for young patients in Mexico.

JYP Entertainment donated 450 million won, while J.Y. Park personally contributed another 100 million won. The combined donation totaled 550 million won, or approximately 7.5 million Mexican pesos.

Speaking about the project, J.Y. Park explained why supporting children has become important to him.

He said, “I think one of the most important purposes a person can pursue is helping another person.”

He added that the support JYP artists receive from fans, together with the work of the company’s employees and artists, can be turned into meaningful assistance for others.

During his visit, J.Y. Park also met representatives from World Vision, medical professionals, partner organizations, and children in Mexico.

As a father of two daughters, singer, producer, and leader of the project, he said, “I want to help children. Our success comes from the love and support of our fans, and I believe it is our responsibility to give that love back.”

The funds are expected to help children and teenagers diagnosed with serious illnesses receive specialized treatment. Support will include surgeries, medical devices, additional treatments, and cancer care through participating hospitals.

JYP Entertainment has carried out similar medical assistance projects in several countries, including South Korea, Indonesia, the Philippines, Thailand, Mongolia, Bangladesh, and Brazil.

According to the company, its EDM medical support program has provided around 10 billion won across 10 regions since 2020 and supported 4,489 young patients. J.Y. Park has also personally donated 1 billion won each year since 2022 as part of his ongoing charitable efforts.
