IU gave fans a closer look at how carefully she records her songs, showing that she often repeats the same lines several times until even the smallest details feel right.
On September 22, IU shared behind-the-scenes footage from the recording of her new song Unknown Planet through her official YouTube channel.
In the video, IU could be seen recording the same parts repeatedly while comparing subtle differences in her vocals. Rather than settling after one take, she continued trying different versions until she was satisfied with the result.
She also carefully listened back to her voice and adjusted small details in tone and expression, showing the level of attention she brings to the recording process.
Even after multiple takes, IU remained focused as she worked to match the mood and emotion she wanted for the song.
IU released the digital single Unknown Planet on September 10. The release includes the double title tracks Unknown Planet and Dear My Crazy Soulmate, both written by IU.
The two songs are also set to serve as pre-release tracks for her upcoming sixth full-length album.
Following its release, Unknown Planet reached No. 1 on Melon Hot 100, Genie Top 200, and Bugs’ real-time chart. IU later released the song’s music video on September 16.
