Netflix has responded to reports that Lovelyz member-turned-actress Yein may join The Trauma Code Season 2 as a replacement for Ha Young.
On September 23, reports claimed that Yein had been cast as nurse Cheon Jang Mi, a member of the trauma team who was played by Ha Young in the first season.
However, Netflix said the casting has not been finalized.
The platform stated, “Nothing has been confirmed regarding Jung Yein’s appearance in Season 2 of The Trauma Code.”
The reports come after Ha Young decided to leave the series following controversy surrounding information about her great-grandfather’s activities during the Japanese colonial period. Rather than continuing with the role, she chose to step down from the upcoming season.
Yein debuted with Lovelyz in 2014 and later expanded into acting, appearing in projects including The Blue Sea and tvN’s Criminal Minds.
For now, Netflix has made clear that Yein’s possible casting in The Trauma Code Season 2 remains unconfirmed.
