Ha Jung Woo has been linked to Netflix’s upcoming live-action adaptation of Solo Leveling, but his agency says his appearance has not been confirmed.
On September 23, reports claimed that Ha Jung Woo may make a special appearance in the series as Hwang Dong Soo, an S-rank hunter who becomes an important antagonist in the original story.
In response to the reports, Ha Jung Woo’s agency, Walkhouse Company, clarified, “Nothing has been confirmed.”
The possible appearance has drawn attention because Solo Leveling already features Byeon Woo Seok as protagonist Sung Jin Woo, alongside Han So Hee.
Ha Jung Woo also has previous connections with members of the production team. He worked with co-directors Lee Hae Jun and Kim Byung Seo on the 2019 film Ashfall and previously collaborated with production company Sanai Pictures on films including Nameless Gangster: Rules of the Time and Kundo: Age of the Rampant.
However, despite reports that he was offered the role of Hwang Dong Soo, his participation remains unconfirmed as of September 23.
The live-action Solo Leveling is based on the globally popular web novel and webtoon of the same name. The story follows Sung Jin Woo, originally known as one of the weakest E-rank hunters, as he gains extraordinary abilities and becomes increasingly powerful.
Ha Jung Woo is currently filming the upcoming movie Inside Men: The Birth of Evil.
