Lee Hyori shared a lighthearted detail about life in her Pyeongchang-dong home, revealing that she does not kill house centipedes because of a belief that they bring money into the house.
On the September 21 episode of JTBC’s *Dating War*, Lee Hyori joined a discussion about life in detached houses and the insects that often come with them.
During the conversation, one participant recalled being shocked after finding a house centipede during a visit to a home in Yangpyeong.
Lee Hyori responded by sharing that she has the same experience at home.
She said, *“There are a lot of house centipedes at our house too.”*
Lee Hyori explained that insects are simply part of living in a detached house and said being scared of them does not mean someone is looking down on the home itself.
She added, *“If you live in a detached house, house centipedes come out. You can’t really avoid it. Being afraid of bugs doesn’t mean you’re disrespecting the house.”*
The singer then shared the reason she and her husband, Lee Sang Soon, usually leave them alone.
*“They say money comes in when house centipedes appear, so we don’t kill them,”* she said.
Lee Hyori has been living with Lee Sang Soon in a detached house in Pyeongchang-dong since moving back from Jeju in 2024.
