EXO’s Suho opened up about some of the doubts he has carried as a group leader after hearing SEVENTEEN’s S.Coups talk about how his team has stayed together since their trainee days.
On a recent episode of the YouTube show *Channel Bandal*, leaders Eun Ji Won of Sechs Kies, Suho of EXO, S.Coups of SEVENTEEN, and Myung Jaehyun of BOYNEXTDOOR discussed the challenges of leading idol groups.
During the conversation, S.Coups talked about SEVENTEEN’s long history together and explained that the group’s lineup has remained unchanged since their trainee period.
Reflecting on the group’s youngest member Dino, S.Coups said, *“No matter how good the older members are, having 12 older brothers must still be difficult.”*
Myung Jaehyun added that he believes a team can work well when both the oldest and youngest members handle their roles properly.
S.Coups then explained, *“We set things up that way from our trainee days,”* referring to how the group built its team dynamic early on.
Eun Ji Won praised SEVENTEEN for staying together for more than a decade, saying, *“There is no single right answer, but looking at what you’ve done so far, your way seems to have worked. It’s not easy for 13 people to stay together for more than 10 years.”*
Hearing this, Suho reflected on his own experience as EXO’s leader.
He admitted, *“Sometimes I have regrets. I wonder if I should have led EXO more like S.Coups did.”*
His comment showed a more vulnerable side of the singer as he looked back on EXO’s history and questioned whether he could have approached leadership differently.
EXO debuted in 2012 as a 12-member group. Kris, Luhan, and Tao later left the group, while the remaining members continued activities under EXO.
Rather than directly blaming himself for what happened, Suho’s remarks appeared to reflect the kind of self-questioning that can come with being responsible for a group over many years.
