Soyeon has directly addressed speculation that her new song *I’m gonna TOESA* means she is planning to leave Cube Entertainment or step away from i-dle.

The singer appeared on the September 18 episode of KBS2’s *The Seasons – Sung Si Kyung’s Eardrum Boyfriend*, where she talked about returning with her first solo album in five years and two months.

Because *I’m gonna TOESA* centers on the idea of quitting a job, some listeners wondered whether the song was secretly referring to Soyeon’s relationship with Cube Entertainment.

Soyeon quickly clarified that this was not the case.

*“I’ve been at Cube for a long time, so everyone thought I was actually quitting,”* she said. *“But that’s not it.”*

Host Sung Si Kyung jokingly responded that Cube must be relieved, while Soyeon praised the company staff for supporting her solo comeback.

*“The Cube staff really worked hard,”* she said. *“It’s a song called ‘I’m gonna TOESA,’ but the staff worked so hard on it.”*

When Sung Si Kyung continued teasing her about whether the song might eventually become a message aimed at the company, Soyeon looked surprised before responding playfully.

*“I love Cube,”* she said while making a hand heart, further dismissing the misunderstanding.

Soyeon also explained why it took her more than five years to release another solo album. Despite writing and producing many successful songs for i-dle, she admitted that releasing music entirely under her own name felt intimidating.

*“Honestly, I was a little scared to release a solo album,”* she said, explaining that she often credited the i-dle members for helping bring her songs to life.

She added, *“I kept thinking that a song I made might not do well if I was the one singing it, so I kept putting it off.”*

According to Soyeon, *I’m gonna TOESA* was ultimately created from a desire to let go of that fear and take a bigger risk.

*“I wrote and released this song after becoming someone who could take that leap, with the mindset of quitting,”* she explained.

Rather than announcing an actual departure from Cube Entertainment or i-dle, Soyeon said the song reflects her decision to move past her fears and challenge herself as a solo artist.
