Yook Sungjae made a playful return to his former agency Cube Entertainment, where he performed Soyeon’s new song I’m gonna TOESA and jokingly invited her to “leave” with him.
On September 17, i-dle’s official YouTube channel released a video featuring Yook Sungjae, who previously left Cube Entertainment after spending many years with the company as a member of BTOB.
The video begins with Sungjae gesturing toward Soyeon and joking, “Come on, Soyeon. Let’s go together.”
He then stands in front of the Cube Entertainment logo and enthusiastically performs I’m gonna TOESA, whose Korean title translates to “I’m going to quit.”
After finishing the song, Sungjae picks up a cardboard cutout of Soyeon and walks away with it while saying, “Let’s go.”
The joke drew attention because Sungjae has actually experienced leaving Cube Entertainment, making his participation in a song centered around “quitting” especially fitting.
Cube Entertainment also joined in on the humor, adding the playful clarification, “We would like to inform you that even after leaving the company, he continues to maintain a good relationship with CUBE without any particular issues.”
Sungjae debuted under Cube Entertainment as a member of BTOB and later left the agency after his exclusive contract ended. His latest appearance at the company headquarters showed that the subject could be treated lightheartedly.
Soyeon released I’m gonna TOESA, featuring narration by Kian84, as the title track of her first full-length solo album 끝내주는 인생. The song uses quitting a job as a playful theme for breaking away from pressure and finding a sense of freedom.
With Sungjae returning to his former workplace to perform the track, the challenge gave the song’s “quitting” concept an unexpectedly literal twist.
