SEVENTEEN’s Jeonghan has opened up about a difficult period during his military service, revealing that health problems once caused his weight to drop to 53 kg.
On September 18, Jeonghan appeared on YouTube channel Channel Fullmoon for a conversation with producer Na Young Suk.
After seeing him again, Na Young Suk asked whether Jeonghan had lost weight. Jeonghan replied that he currently weighs around 63 kg, which is close to his usual weight before entering the military.
He then explained that his health had taken a serious turn while he was serving.
Jeonghan said, “I was really sick while I was serving. My stomach and intestines became very unhealthy, so I lost 13 kg. I went down to 53 kg.”

According to Jeonghan, the experience eventually became one of the reasons he started exercising more regularly and paying greater attention to his physical condition.
The serious conversation later shifted into a more playful mood when Na Young Suk brought up videos of Jeonghan working out in sleeveless shirts.
Jeonghan jokingly blamed fellow SEVENTEEN member Mingyu for drawing attention to his gym style, saying, “This is all Kim Mingyu’s fault.”
He explained that the members encouraged him to wear sleeveless workout clothes so he could better see his muscles moving while exercising.
Jeonghan also joked that the members have their own unofficial “levels” of gym tank tops depending on their experience. He said beginners wear one style, while someone at Mingyu’s level can wear a gray tank top.
While the conversation included plenty of teasing, Jeonghan’s comments also revealed that his current workout routine began after a period when he struggled with his health and experienced a significant drop in weight during his military service.
