Hwang Jung Eum looked back on the intense period when her popularity exploded through High Kick Through the Roof and We Got Married, revealing that she reportedly generated around 4 billion won in revenue in just six months.

On September 16, Hwang Jung Eum shared a new video on her YouTube channel featuring a day out with her father. During the conversation, she reflected on how different her life was at the height of her fame.

Hwang recalled that during her High Kick Through the Roof and We Got Married days, she was so recognizable that simply walking around in public became difficult.

The production team then brought up reports about the huge amount of money she generated during that period.

Hwang explained that she was 26 at the time and was working on an extremely demanding schedule with very little sleep.

“I worked really hard without sleeping. If you go about three days without sleep, you eventually stop hearing what even the scariest person is saying,” she said.

Despite the exhaustion, Hwang said seeing her bank balance continue to grow gave her motivation to keep going.

“I was able to endure it because the balance in my bank account kept increasing. That gave me strength,” she explained.

She added that the money also gave her a strong sense of achievement because it represented the results of how hard she had worked.

Hwang previously spoke about the same period while meeting her former High Kick Through the Roof co-star Julien Kang. She recalled that her bank account once had only around 500 won before her career took off, but her finances changed dramatically after the sitcom became a hit.

She also remembered how advertising offers kept arriving during filming.

“I remember filming High Kick and then going straight to shoot a ramen commercial. New advertisements would come in whenever I woke up,” she said.

Hwang described that period as a blessing and said she still feels grateful when looking back on it.

According to previous reports, Hwang Jung Eum generated approximately 4 billion won in revenue over a six-month period during the peak of her High Kick Through the Roof popularity.
