Song Kang and Lee Jun Young’s tvN drama Four Hands, Two Sonatas has reached a new personal best in viewership ratings as the story moves toward a major turning point between their characters.
According to Nielsen Korea, episode 6 of Four Hands, Two Sonatas, which aired on September 13, recorded an average nationwide rating of 7.3 percent, with a peak of 7.9 percent. In the Seoul metropolitan area, the episode averaged 7.4 percent and reached a peak of 8.0 percent, marking the drama’s highest ratings so far.
The episode also ranked No. 1 in its time slot across all channels, including terrestrial networks, in both nationwide and metropolitan figures. Nationwide, the drama has remained No. 1 among cable and general programming channels in its time slot for six consecutive episodes.
Four Hands, Two Sonatas also took first place in its time slot among viewers aged 20 to 49, tvN’s key demographic, in both nationwide and metropolitan ratings.
The latest episode centered on a significant development involving Kang Bi Oh, played by Song Kang, and Choi Jung Yo, played by Lee Jun Young.
Nine years after Jung Yo disappeared during an international competition, Bi Oh unexpectedly discovers someone he believed was gone while attending a conducting competition in the Czech Republic.
The discovery brings the two characters’ long and complicated connection back to the center of the story. Rather than revealing everything that happened during the nine year separation, the episode raises new questions about Jung Yo’s past and why his path shifted from playing the piano to conducting.
With Song Kang and Lee Jun Young’s characters finally crossing paths again and ratings climbing to a series high, attention is now focused on whether Four Hands, Two Sonatas can continue its upward momentum in the coming episodes.
