Actor Seo Kang Joon shared an unexpected story about his path into the entertainment industry during a recent appearance on Jung Jae Hyung’s YouTube channel.
Before becoming an actor, Seo Kang Joon spent about two years training as a model after his mother suggested the career.
He later appeared in two fashion shows during high school but decided modeling was not the right path for him.
He eventually joined a friend at an SM Entertainment audition. Seo Kang Joon revealed that he was the only one who passed.
When his mother received the call, she reportedly replied, “Our child is not interested in that,” before ending the conversation, creating a lighthearted moment.
Jung Jae Hyung also praised Seo Kang Joon’s appearance, saying, “Even his eyes look different. It feels like you could get drawn into them.”
However, Seo Kang Joon responded modestly and said he often feels unfamiliar with photos of himself. Since he rarely looks closely at his eyes, he said he sometimes wonders whether they have always been that light.
The actor also admitted that he does not often look in the mirror. Describing his appearance after washing, he said, “It is not particularly good,” adding that he only looks more presentable after having his hair and makeup done.
His self-deprecating comments prompted Jung Jae Hyung to jokingly respond, “That’s annoying,” adding humor to the casual conversation.
