Former AOA member Kwon Mina has directly addressed recent comments about changes in her appearance, saying she has not undergone facial plastic surgery.
On September 2, Kwon Mina shared a candid message on social media after apparently receiving repeated comments questioning whether she had undergone cosmetic surgery.
She explained that changes in her weight can make her face look noticeably different.
Kwon Mina wrote, “When I lose weight, my jaw looks smaller, and right now I’ve gained weight, so it looks heavier. Whenever something changes, people say I touched my face or had surgery. If I had surgery, wouldn’t there normally be a recovery period?”
She then decided to clearly address the speculation.
In a casual and humorous tone, she said, “Let me tell you clearly because it feels good to finally say it. I didn’t have plastic surgery.”
However, Kwon Mina openly acknowledged receiving non-surgical cosmetic treatments in the past.
She continued, “I have tried lifting procedures and skin boosters several times. That’s it. So this is just how I look. I’m not a natural beauty, I’m just completely natural.”
Kwon Mina later added that she had been dealing with several stressful matters that day, which appeared to explain why she decided to respond directly.
After her post, several followers left supportive messages telling her not to worry too much about comments regarding her appearance.
Kwon Mina debuted as a member of AOA in 2012 before leaving the group in May 2019. Since then, she has continued communicating with followers through her personal social media accounts.
