Actor Byun Yo Han opened up about why he decided to marry Girls’ Generation’s Tiffany Young, sharing how her support gave him a feeling he had never experienced before.
On September 3, Byun Yo Han appeared in a video uploaded to Choo Sung Hoon’s YouTube channel, where the two had a relaxed conversation at a gym.
During the discussion, Choo Sung Hoon asked how long Byun Yo Han had been married. The actor replied, “I got married in February.” When asked how long they had dated before getting married, he said they had been together for about a year and a half.
Byun Yo Han was then asked what made him think about marriage with Tiffany. He explained that in his previous relationships, he often felt that he needed to be the person protecting his partner.
He said, “This is actually my first time talking about this. I always dated while thinking that I should protect the other person. But she was the first woman I met who protected me, gave me courage, and helped me overcome things.”
He recalled that traveling had been difficult for him for years and that he had gradually been trying to become more comfortable with flying. According to Byun Yo Han, Tiffany eventually took the initiative and booked a flight for them.
He remembered her telling him, “Trust me. Follow me.” He added that she even reserved what she believed would be the most comfortable seat for him.
The experience left a strong impression on the actor. Byun Yo Han said that after arriving at their destination, he found himself thinking, “What is this feeling?”
He explained that despite having spent many years working as an actor and being at a mature stage in his life, the experience made him feel something completely new.
When Choo Sung Hoon asked how married life was going, Byun Yo Han replied, “I try to stay calm all the time. I’m very happy. I want to love her for a long time, so I’m trying to manage my energy well.”
