BIGBANG’s Daesung is drawing attention after reports revealed that the estimated value of his longtime Seoul apartment has risen nearly sevenfold since he purchased it.
According to a recent video from the Wander Planet channel, Daesung purchased a large apartment in Heukseok dong, Dongjak District, Seoul, in the summer of 2015 for around 1.45 billion won. The 275 square meter unit, or roughly 85 pyeong, is said to have a panoramic view of the Han River.
More than 10 years later, the apartment is reportedly estimated to be worth around 10 billion won, representing a major increase from its original purchase price.
The property has also gained attention because of its location and views. It is known as a popular spot for watching the Seoul International Fireworks Festival from home due to its wide Han River view.
Several celebrities have reportedly lived in the same apartment complex over the years, including Jang Dong Gun and Go So Young, as well as Hyun Bin. Figure skating star Kim Yuna and Forestella member Ko Woo Rim, along with singer and actress Krystal, have also been reported as residents.
Daesung’s commercial property has also reportedly increased significantly in value. In November 2017, he purchased a nine story building with two basement levels in Nonhyeon dong, Seoul, for approximately 31 billion won. Recent estimates cited in the report place the building’s value at more than 90 billion won.
Based on the reported market estimates of these two properties, their combined value is now said to exceed 100 billion won. However, these figures refer to estimated real estate values and should not be taken as confirmation of Daesung’s total personal net worth.
Meanwhile, Daesung is currently active with BIGBANG as the group celebrates its 20th anniversary. BIGBANG recently began its world tour, XX : COSMOS IN GOYANG, with concerts scheduled across 19 cities in North America, Europe, Oceania, and Asia.
