Actor Kim Ji Hoon revealed that he once seriously considered becoming a singer and even came close to debuting, but joked that his singing skills were not good enough at the time.
Kim Ji Hoon appeared on the September 2 episode of YouTube show Yoo In Radio, where he reunited with Yoo In Na and Soran’s Go Young Bae.
During the conversation, Yoo In Na praised Kim Ji Hoon’s appearance and said, “I feel like I don’t even need to say anything. Does this make sense?”
Go Young Bae agreed and added, “I don’t usually like saying this, but he might be No. 1 in person.”
Kim Ji Hoon reacted shyly and joked, “That’s nice, but we already know each other. Why are you acting like we’re meeting for the first time?”
The topic later turned to music, which Yoo In Na pointed out was something the three shared in common.
Kim Ji Hoon said, “Music is my life,” before revealing, “I almost debuted as a singer. I really wanted to debut.”
Yoo In Na responded, “Imagine how huge it would have been if you had debuted.”
Kim Ji Hoon then joked about why that path did not happen, saying, “People probably would have been very angry because I was really bad at singing. That’s why I’ve been learning how to sing for 23 years.”
Yoo In Na laughed and asked, “You still haven’t given up?”
The exchange was lighthearted, but it also connected to Kim Ji Hoon’s past as a former SM Entertainment trainee. He has previously shared that he trained under SM before eventually building his career as an actor.
Although his singer debut never happened, Kim Ji Hoon’s latest comments showed that his interest in music has stayed with him for more than two decades.
