BLACKPINK’s Rosé is drawing attention after reports claimed that she recently turned down a major advertising offer from a Chinese beverage brand worth around 10 billion won.

According to reports citing industry sources, Rosé was offered approximately 7.2 million USD, or roughly 10 billion won, to serve as a model for a well-known Chinese tea drink brand. However, she reportedly decided not to accept the offer.

The decision has sparked discussion about how much control Rosé now has over the projects and brands connected to her name.

Reports also claimed that Rosé had been in talks with a famous champagne brand for around a year. The collaboration was said to include plans for a special edition product carrying her name, but the project reportedly did not move forward after she was not satisfied with the proposed bottle design.

Industry observers have linked her growing selectiveness to the worldwide success of APT., her hit collaboration with Bruno Mars.

One report suggested that the success of APT. helped Rosé strengthen her position beyond being known only as a BLACKPINK member, establishing her further as a global pop artist under her own name.

The outlet explained that Rosé now appears to have something only a small number of K-pop artists can achieve: the ability to reject major offers when they do not fit her personal standards or image.

A representative connected to a BLACKPINK member’s agency reportedly said last year that one member had become “very particular” about projects. The member was not identified, so there is no confirmation that the comment referred to Rosé.

Rather than suggesting any conflict, the latest reports have been interpreted as a sign that Rosé may now have greater influence over the details of endorsements and collaborations involving her image.

Rosé debuted with BLACKPINK in 2016 and began her solo career in 2021. Her global profile grew further following the massive success of APT. with Bruno Mars in 2024.
