Jung Hae In and Shin Se Kyung are officially teaming up as the leads of the upcoming TVING romance drama Love Virus.
On September 1, CJ ENM STUDIOS and Studio Phoenix confirmed that the two actors have been cast in the new series, which is scheduled to premiere in 2027.
Love Virus follows Ha Do Woon and Kang Chae Rin, a couple who have been together for nine years and were each other’s first romantic partners.
As they begin seriously considering marriage, the couple makes an unusual decision: before settling down, they agree to take a “break time” that allows each of them to meet other people.
Their goal is to make sure they enter marriage without lingering curiosity or regrets about never having dated anyone else. However, the arrangement begins to test the comfortable relationship they have built over nearly a decade.
Jung Hae In will play Ha Do Woon, a successful lawyer and Kang Chae Rin’s longtime boyfriend. Described as confident, capable, and determined, Do Woon has remained devoted to his first love despite receiving plenty of attention from others.
Shin Se Kyung will star as Kang Chae Rin, a dentist who has also spent most of her adult life in the same relationship. Although she appears to have a stable career, a desirable lifestyle, and a dependable boyfriend, she begins questioning whether she has followed one path for too long.
The drama is expected to focus on the changing emotions between the longtime couple as their unconventional agreement forces them to look at their relationship from a new perspective.
The project will be directed by Kim Seok Yoon, known for My Liberation Notes, The Light in Your Eyes, and Heavenly Ever After. Writer Choi Soo Young, whose previous works include Love to Hate You and My ID Is Gangnam Beauty, is also part of the creative team.
With Jung Hae In and Shin Se Kyung pairing up for the first time, attention is already building around their chemistry and how they will portray a nine-year couple whose relationship is suddenly put to the test.
Love Virus is scheduled to premiere on TVING in 2027.
