BTS’s Jin is once again drawing attention for his strong influence on product sales after a headband he wore during the group’s Chicago concert reportedly sold out.
On August 29, Jin appeared at BTS’s second Chicago show at Soldier Field wearing a Pink Bean character headband from MapleStory. The item reportedly sold out the same day after fans noticed him wearing it on stage.
The headband, which is sold through Lotte World Seoul and its online store, was restocked on August 30. It then reportedly climbed to No. 1 on the store’s real-time, daily, weekly, and monthly sales rankings before selling out again.
The latest response follows several similar cases involving items worn by Jin. A Gucci jacket featured in the brand’s Primavera campaign reportedly became unavailable less than 24 hours after the campaign was released, while a LLEGE T-shirt he wore during the first Chicago concert also sold out soon after attracting attention.
Jin also generated strong social media activity during BTS’s Chicago concerts. His name reached No. 1 on South Korea’s real-time X trends during the first night, while related phrases and hashtags including “JIN ECLIPSES CHICAGO,” “JIN IN THE WINDY CITY,” and “Kim Seokjin” appeared among trending topics in several countries.
BTS will continue their ARIRANG world tour with concerts at SoFi Stadium in Los Angeles on September 2, 3, 6, and 7.
