SBS's Flex X Cop 2 is gaining momentum as the drama approaches the double-digit ratings mark and prepares to introduce one of its biggest cases so far.

According to Nielsen Korea, episode 6 recorded a peak nationwide household rating of 9.4%, marking another personal best for the series. With ratings continuing to rise, attention is now focused on whether the drama can break past 10%.

Ahead of episode 7, SBS released new stills showing Jin Yi Soo, played by Ahn Bo Hyun, and new team leader Joo Hye Ra, played by Jung Eun Chae, attending a magic show that suddenly becomes the scene of a serious incident.

The upcoming case centers on a famous magician and appears to bring a larger scale than previous investigations, with the two detectives witnessing the unexpected event firsthand.

Ahn Bo Hyun previously teased the episode during a web variety appearance, saying he was surprised by its scale even when reading the script.

“There is an episode involving magicians, and while reading the script, I kept wondering, ‘How are they going to film this?’” he said. “When you watch the actual episode, I think you’ll probably say, ‘Wow, the scale is really big.’”

Flex X Cop 2 follows wealthy detective Jin Yi Soo, who often uses his resources to break through difficult investigations, as he works alongside Joo Hye Ra. The second season has continued to build its audience with upgraded cases and the chemistry between its lead characters.

With the drama already reaching a 9.4% peak rating, its latest large-scale case could become an important test of whether Flex X Cop 2 can finally enter double-digit territory.

Episode 7 of Flex X Cop 2 airs on August 28 at 9:50 p.m. KST.
