Choi Hyun Wook has received a major honor recognizing his growing influence as one of South Korea’s rising actors.
On August 28, Choi Hyun Wook received the National Assembly Culture, Sports and Tourism Committee Chairman’s Award at the 8th Newsis Hallyu Expo in Seoul.
During his acceptance speech, the actor expressed gratitude and reflected on the growing popularity of Korean content around the world.
“I am sincerely grateful to receive such a meaningful award at this important event,” Choi Hyun Wook said. “It is always amazing to see not only dramas and films, but many different forms of K-content reaching audiences around the world.”
He added, “I will continue doing my best in my position so I can greet viewers through good projects.”
Choi Hyun Wook made his acting debut in 2019 through the web drama Real:Time:Love. He later gained wider attention through projects including Taxi Driver, Racket Boys, Jirisan, and Weak Hero Class 1.
His international profile continued to grow through Netflix titles such as D.P. Season 2, Weak Hero Class 2, and Notes from the Last Row.
According to the report, Notes from the Last Row, which also stars Choi Min Sik, entered Netflix’s Top 10 rankings in 32 countries, further expanding Choi Hyun Wook’s recognition among global viewers.
The actor has also been cast in director Jang Jae Hyun’s upcoming film Vampire, adding another major project to his growing career.
With his latest Hallyu award, Choi Hyun Wook is being recognized not only for his rising popularity in South Korea but also for his increasing presence among international audiences through Korean dramas and streaming projects.
