Kim Ji Young has revealed how what was originally planned as a brief cameo in SBS drama Agent Kim Reactivated unexpectedly expanded into three separate appearances.
During an August 26 appearance on Hwang Jung Eum’s YouTube channel alongside Bae Soo Bin, Kim Ji Young shared behind-the-scenes details about working on the hit drama, which finished its run with a peak rating of 27.1%.
Kim Ji Young explained that she was initially supposed to appear in only one scene.
She said, “I was originally making a cameo, so I was only supposed to appear in one scene, but two more scenes were added.”
The actress revealed that her expanded role eventually led to appearances in Episodes 6, 8, and 10.
Kim Ji Young also credited the drama’s collaborative atmosphere as one of the reasons she enjoyed filming so much. According to her, the cast regularly gathered to discuss scenes and exchange ideas, even when they were not personally appearing in those scenes.
She recalled, “Everyone would have strategy meetings and say things like, ‘What if we do it this way?’ We would share ideas with each other. Filming was so much fun.”
Kim Ji Young added that she often notices a similar atmosphere behind successful productions, saying, “When you look at projects that do well, everyone involved, including the staff and actors, is really united.”
Agent Kim Reactivated ultimately concluded with a peak viewership rating of 27.1%, while Kim Ji Young’s originally one-scene cameo became a recurring three-episode appearance.
