Cha Tae Hyun has revealed the story behind how Jin Ki Joo became the first actress to join the agency he founded with Jo In Sung.
Cha Tae Hyun and Jin Ki Joo will appear together as guests on the August 25 episode of SBS variety show Whenever Possible.
During the episode, attention turns to Jin Ki Joo, who recently gained interest for her appearance in the Netflix series Teach You a Lesson. She is also the first artist signed under Basecamp Company, which is jointly led by Cha Tae Hyun and Jo In Sung.
Cha Tae Hyun explained that Jo In Sung's longtime industry connection played an important role in Jin Ki Joo joining the company.
He shared, “Jin Ki Joo’s former agency CEO used to be Jo In Sung’s manager. When the companies came together, she joined us as well.”
His explanation prompted reactions from hosts Yoo Jae Suk and Yoo Yeon Seok, while Cha Tae Hyun jokingly credited his continued good luck.
Earlier in the conversation, Cha Tae Hyun also joked about his reputation for bringing good fortune whenever he appears on Whenever Possible.
He said, “Am I going to be lucky for the rest of my life?” and playfully described himself as a lucky charm for the program.
Yoo Yeon Seok agreed, saying, “Tae Hyun really is lucky.”
