Lee Soo Hyuk will no longer appear in the upcoming Netflix drama Men of the Harem, leaving one of the male consort roles open after production began.

According to reports on August 19, Lee Soo Hyuk recently decided to step away from the series. His agency, Saram Entertainment, confirmed the decision and explained, “He decided to withdraw due to scheduling reasons.”

The agency did not provide further details regarding how much filming, if any, Lee Soo Hyuk had already completed for the drama.

Lee Soo Hyuk had been expected to play one of the male consorts of Latil, the empress portrayed by Suzy. With his departure, attention is now turning to who may take over the role.

Based on the Naver web novel of the same name by Alphatart, Men of the Harem is a palace romance fantasy centered on Empress Latil, who brings several male consorts into the imperial court as she works to protect her position on the throne.

The drama has already entered filming and also stars Shin Seung Ho, Dex, Kim Dan, and Yoo Jung Hoo alongside Suzy.

Meanwhile, Lee Soo Hyuk has completed filming for upcoming projects including Netflix’s Grand Galaxy Hotel and Dealer, which are currently awaiting release.

Men of the Harem is expected to premiere on Netflix in 2027.
