Actor Hong Min Gi has responded to serious allegations made by a former girlfriend, confirming that the woman behind the online posts previously dated him while denying claims involving dating violence, threats, mistreatment of a pet, and misleading fans.

The controversy began on August 19 after a woman referred to as “A” shared details from a legal notice she said had been sent to Hong Min Gi in late July.

According to the document shared online, A alleged that Hong Min Gi once threw a soju bottle in her direction during an argument and made threatening comments after suspecting her of being involved with someone else. She later posted additional claims about his behavior during their relationship.

A also tagged photos of Hong Min Gi and his agency’s social media account, stating that he was the person mentioned in her earlier posts.

As the allegations spread online, Hong Min Gi’s agency released a detailed statement disputing several parts of her account.

According to the agency, Hong Min Gi and A began dating in April but later experienced conflict after he allegedly discovered that she remained in contact with a former boyfriend. The agency claimed Hong Min Gi eventually ended the relationship after losing trust.

His representatives said A continued contacting him and requesting that they reconcile after the breakup.

The agency stated, “After the actor refused to meet her again, A eventually sent him a certified legal notice containing claims that differ from the facts.”

It also strongly denied some of the additional accusations posted online.

The agency continued, “Today, she uploaded not only the certified notice but also provocative claims involving alleged abuse of a pet and deception toward fans that are not true, seriously damaging the actor’s reputation.”

Hong Min Gi’s side said it plans to respond through legal procedures and supporting evidence.

The agency added, “We will do our best to ensure that the facts are clearly established through objective evidence and appropriate legal procedures.”

At this stage, the former couple has presented conflicting accounts, and the allegations have not been independently established as fact. Further statements or evidence from either side may provide additional clarification.

Hong Min Gi, born in 2002, has appeared in dramas including Night Has Come, Love Your Enemy, Study Group, Crushology 101, Trigger, To My Beloved Thief, and Doctor X: Age of the White Mafia. He has also completed filming for the second season of Study Group.
