Kim Doyeon may be teaming up with D.O. in the upcoming drama We Are the Zombies.
On August 18, Kim Doyeon’s agency Fantagio confirmed that the actress has received an offer for the series and is currently considering it positively.
A representative stated, “She is positively reviewing the offer to appear.”
We Are the Zombies is based on the webtoon of the same name. D.O. has already drawn attention after being cast as the male lead, Kim In Jong.
The story takes place inside Seoul Tower, a massive shopping mall affected by a zombie outbreak. Instead of focusing only on escape, the series follows people who were not rescued and are forced to continue living inside the building while sharing the space with zombies.
Kim Doyeon has reportedly been offered the role of Kim So Young, the female lead and leader of a hideout where a group of survivors gathers.
Her casting has not yet been finalized, but if she accepts the role, viewers could see Kim Doyeon and D.O. working together for the first time in the project.
Kim Doyeon first became known through Mnet’s Produce 101 in 2016 before debuting with I.O.I and later Weki Meki.
She has since expanded into acting with projects including My Roommate Is a Gumiho, Jirisan, and the film Idiot Girls and School Ghost: School Anniversary.
