BLACKPINK’s 10th anniversary celebrations have drawn mixed reactions after concerns surrounding the group’s fan event led all four members to personally address disappointed fans.

BLACKPINK marked their 10th debut anniversary on August 8 with a special Meet & Greet event at the National Museum of Korea in Yongsan, Seoul.

However, some fans expressed frustration even before the event began. According to the report, YG Entertainment announced details only two days beforehand, while specific information about the schedule and location was initially limited. The agency also first stated that only members available due to their schedules would attend, creating uncertainty over the lineup.

It was later confirmed that Jisoo, Jennie, Rosé, and Lisa would all participate. Still, criticism continued because attendance was reportedly limited to around 40 fans and the event lasted roughly 30 minutes. Some fans felt the anniversary gathering did not provide enough time for meaningful interaction considering the importance of the group’s 10th anniversary.

The members subsequently shared their thoughts and apologized for the disappointment.

Jisoo acknowledged that the anniversary was an important occasion and said there had been problems during the communication process.

She said, “I knew very well that it was our 10th anniversary and that it was an important day, but there were issues in the communication process. I’m sorry.”

Rosé also expressed regret that the celebration did not unfold as she had hoped.

She said, “I wanted that day, at least, to be a time when all of us could smile and be happy, but things didn’t work out the way I hoped, so I’m filled with regret.”

Lisa addressed the discussions taking place online and apologized for how the situation developed.

She said, “As everyone knows, there have been many conversations online. The situation makes me very sad, and I’m truly sorry that things turned out this way.”

Jennie later shared a longer message through a fan communication platform on August 17, explaining that she was also upset that BLACKPINK had not been able to properly communicate with BLINKs during the anniversary.

She wrote, “While celebrating BLACKPINK’s 10th anniversary, I was also very upset that we weren’t able to properly communicate with BLINKs.”

Jennie continued, “On a day when we should have shared only celebrations for our 10th anniversary, we ended up leaving each other with disappointment. From my position, I can only say I’m sorry without making excuses.”

She also apologized for what she described as an immature response before reflecting on the group’s decade-long relationship with fans.

Jennie thanked BLINKs for supporting BLACKPINK throughout the past 10 years, saying, “Thanks to all of you, we were given precious moments that we may never experience again.”

She added that the members were able to grow through the love they received from fans and described BLINKs as one of BLACKPINK’s greatest blessings.

Jennie concluded by promising to remember what she learned from the situation.

She wrote, “I won’t forget what I learned and felt from this experience, and I will continue working to become a Jennie who can return your love.”

The situation has placed unexpected attention on what was intended to be a milestone celebration for BLACKPINK. While some fans were disappointed by the planning and limited interaction surrounding the anniversary event, the four members have each publicly acknowledged those concerns and expressed appreciation for the fans who have supported them throughout the group’s first decade.
