BLACKPINK member Jennie faced several unexpected problems during her appearance at SUMMER SONIC 2026 in Japan, including microphone and outfit issues, before becoming emotional at the end of her final festival performance.

Jennie performed as a headliner at the major Japanese music festival, appearing at Tokyo's ZOZO Marine Stadium and Makuhari Messe on August 14 before taking the stage at Osaka's Expo '70 Commemorative Park on August 16.

During the Osaka performance, fans noticed that Jennie's microphone appeared to have technical problems. A fan who shared footage from the concert said the microphone was not working properly and that Jennie also seemed to be dealing with an issue involving her outfit.

In videos from the performance, Jennie could be seen checking and tapping her microphone. At another point, she briefly turned away from the audience while adjusting her outfit before continuing the performance.

Jennie later explained the situation directly to the crowd, saying, "I'm sorry. I had a little problem with my outfit today. I didn't expect it to be this hot or that I would sweat this much. But I'm back, and I'll keep going with you."

Despite the unexpected difficulties, Jennie continued with her scheduled performance.

She also shared how meaningful the event was for her, explaining that it marked the end of several months of festival appearances.

"I'm really happy and proud to be here. I know it has been a very long time since I've seen you, so today feels very special," she told fans.

Jennie added, "I've been performing at different festivals for the past three months, and today is my final festival. Since it's the last day, I have one small request. Please enjoy yourselves as much as you can."

After completing the performance, Jennie appeared emotional while giving her final farewell and was seen wiping away tears.

The difficult weekend also came as a separate video allegedly taken during Jennie's Tokyo performance began circulating online.

Some social media users claimed the footage showed an unintended wardrobe exposure, while others questioned whether the clip may have been digitally altered or generated using AI.

The authenticity of the circulating video has not been independently confirmed, and there is currently no verified evidence establishing whether it is genuine or manipulated. Because of that, claims surrounding the footage remain unconfirmed.

Despite the technical and wardrobe difficulties during the festival, Jennie completed her set and thanked fans as she wrapped up her latest run of festival performances.
