IVE member Jang Wonyoung is drawing attention after revealing that her post-concert cleaning and self-care routine can take around an hour, leading to mixed reactions online.
On August 11, IVE’s official YouTube channel released a Lie-down Interview featuring Jang Wonyoung shortly after the group completed a concert in Montreal.
While resting in her hotel room, Jang Wonyoung shared details about what she normally does after leaving the concert venue. She explained that thoroughly removing her stage makeup, cleaning herself, and showering are important parts of her routine.
Jang Wonyoung said, “As soon as I get to the hotel, I make sure to cleanse thoroughly and take a shower. I think I spend about an hour doing it.”
She further explained why she spends so much time getting ready for bed after performing.
“My hair and makeup stylists know this too. I have a personality where I simply cannot function unless I get my body 100% clean,” she said.
Her comments suggest that the hour includes more than simply standing in the shower, as she described going through a full cleansing process after spending hours wearing stage makeup, hairstyling products, and performance outfits.
Jang Wonyoung even joked that lying directly on the hotel bed before completing her usual routine was unusual for her.
She explained, “Honestly, lying on this bed right after a concert is something I would normally never do, but I made an exception for this interview with DIVE.”
The idol also shared a personal message to her future self, showing a more reflective side during the interview.
“There is just one thing I really want to tell the Wonyoung of a year from now. I hope you are more at ease than you are now. I hope that a year from now, you won’t be caught up in the chaos but will be able to fully enjoy your time. I love you.”
