BTS members V and Jungkook have asked fans to respect their personal space after recalling an unexpected late-night encounter at their hotel gym while continuing the North American leg of BTS WORLD TOUR ‘ARIRANG’.
Following BTS’s Baltimore concert on August 11 local time, the two members spoke with fans through a Weverse Live and shared what happened when they went to their hotel gym at around 2 a.m.
According to Jungkook, they encountered around 20 fans inside the gym. He explained that he had rarely seen that many people exercising at such a late hour during the tour and believed some may have been there hoping to see them.
V kept the conversation relatively light but made it clear that people should not interfere with others who are trying to exercise.
He said that if seeing them encouraged someone to work out, that could be positive, but everyone should still focus on their own exercise and avoid disturbing other people.
Jungkook similarly asked fans to concentrate on their workouts rather than watching the members.
“Don’t just stare. Pick up a dumbbell, look at the exercise equipment, and focus on your own posture and workout,” he said, before adding, “Isn’t this our private life?”
V also jokingly mentioned that a fan wearing green had appeared in footage they recorded the previous day and playfully suggested that he could reveal the video.
The comments appeared to be delivered in a casual tone, but the message behind them was clear: the members wanted fans to respect their privacy during their personal time. A person wearing green was also reportedly seen approaching V after Jungkook had already left the gym.
During the same livestream, V and Jungkook also shared updates about health concerns they have been managing while touring.
V revealed for the first time that he has experienced hearing difficulties for about two and a half years.
“I’ve never told ARMY this before, but my hearing hasn’t been good for about two and a half years,” he said.
V explained that if the hearing in his left ear were considered 100, his right ear would be around 30, adding that he has been receiving treatment and taking medication.
Jungkook also said he has been dealing with pain around his shin and was told that the area was close to developing a stress fracture. He explained that the discomfort affected how much he could jump during the Baltimore performance, although he intends to carefully manage his condition while completing the remaining tour dates.
BTS is scheduled to continue BTS WORLD TOUR ‘ARIRANG’ with performances at AT&T Stadium in Arlington on August 15 and 16, followed by shows at Rogers Stadium in Toronto on August 22 and 23.
