ASTRO member and actor Cha Eun Woo may be returning to the small screen with a new historical romance drama centered on food.
On August 11, Studio Dragon confirmed that Cha Eun Woo is currently in discussions to star as the male lead in the upcoming drama Seorabeol Knife (working title).
According to the production company, Seorabeol Knife is still in the planning and development stage, and Cha Eun Woo is considering an offer to appear in the project.
The drama is reportedly a romance story built around cuisine from the Silla era. Director Jang Tae Yoo, who previously directed tvN's Bon Appétit, Your Majesty, is expected to take charge of the new project.
Studio Dragon is developing the series, while its broadcasting platform and release schedule have not yet been decided.
The company also clarified that Seorabeol Knife is a completely separate project from Bon Appétit, Your Majesty and is not its second season.
Earlier reports had suggested that Cha Eun Woo could appear as the male lead in Bon Appétit, Your Majesty 2. However, the project he is actually reviewing is said to be director Jang Tae Yoo's new drama, Seorabeol Knife.
Bon Appétit, Your Majesty, which aired in 2025, became a ratings success and reached a nationwide peak of 17.1 percent, according to Nielsen Korea.
With Jang Tae Yoo preparing another romance involving traditional cuisine, attention is now focused on whether Cha Eun Woo will officially join the cast of Seorabeol Knife.
Cha Eun Woo is currently serving in the military and is scheduled to be discharged on January 27, 2027.
