Singer and actor Lee Jun Young is drawing attention after new photos and stories from his military training center began circulating online.
On August 9, several online communities and social media posts shared recent photos of Lee Jun Young, who enlisted as an active-duty soldier last month.
In the pictures, Lee Jun Young is seen wearing his military uniform while posing with fellow trainees. Despite his much shorter hairstyle, he appears cheerful as he smiles brightly and makes a playful pose with his hands above his head.
Along with the photos, one online post claiming to share a secondhand account of Lee Jun Young’s behavior at the training center gained attention.

The writer said their older brother is currently training at the same center and has seen Lee Jun Young several times.
According to the post, “He said Lee Jun Young was much kinder than he ever expected.”
The writer continued, “He said his personality is really as good as what you see in videos,” adding that Lee Jun Young was often seen walking around with a bright smile. The post also wished him a safe and healthy military service.
Another lighthearted story from before his enlistment also resurfaced. One person claimed to have spotted Lee Jun Young near Konkuk University’s Star City in Seoul and said, “He looked even better in person. He was very seriously doing a secondhand transaction for Pokémon cards.”
The unexpected detail amused fans and added to the positive reactions surrounding his recent update.
Lee Jun Young enlisted as an active-duty soldier on July 21. Before beginning his service, he told fans, “I’ll return safely and in good health. See you in the winter the year after next. Merry Christmas and Happy New Year in advance.”
Although he is currently serving in the military, viewers will still be able to see him in tvN’s upcoming drama Four Hands, Two Sonatas, which he completed filming before enlistment. The series is scheduled to premiere on August 29.
