BLACKPINK’s Jisoo drew attention after she was seen wiping away tears following the group’s 10th anniversary fan event.
On August 8, BLACKPINK celebrated their 10th debut anniversary with a special Meet & Greet event at the National Museum of Korea in Seoul. Jisoo, Jennie, Rosé, and Lisa all attended and spent time with 40 fans selected through a drawing.
After the event, a video showing Jisoo leaving the venue began circulating online. In the clip, Jisoo entered a vehicle while continuing to accept handwritten letters from fans and appeared emotional as she wiped away tears.
The moment drew particular attention because Jisoo is not often seen crying publicly, and it came after she had personally addressed fan concerns surrounding the anniversary event.
Earlier that day, Jisoo reportedly discussed the situation during a short livestream, explaining that there may have been misunderstandings in the communication surrounding the event and expressing regret to fans. She also later shared a longer message through a fan communication platform.
Some fans expressed concern that Jisoo appeared to be taking responsibility for the situation by herself.
One fan wrote, “I don’t want to see Jisoo carrying everything alone anymore.” Another said they hoped the other members would also communicate openly with fans and help ease their concerns.
The discussion began after YG Entertainment announced the August 8 Meet & Greet only two days before BLACKPINK’s 10th anniversary. Some fans were disappointed by the short notice and the limited attendance of 40 people.
The original announcement also stated that only members available according to their schedules would attend. YG Entertainment later updated the notice and confirmed that all four BLACKPINK members would participate.
Despite the earlier disappointment surrounding the event arrangements, BLACKPINK ultimately reunited as a full group for the anniversary celebration, while Jisoo’s emotional moment afterward left a strong impression on fans.
