BLACKPINK’s Jennie shared her straightforward thoughts on dating and communication during a recent appearance on Cosmopolitan’s YouTube series Blind Date.

During the conversation, Jennie was asked how she would react if someone she was dating kept updating his Facebook status while taking hours to reply to her messages.

Jennie immediately responded, “No. That’s a red flag.”

She added, “He’s updating his Facebook status but not replying? Everything about that is wrong. We deserve respect and love from men.”

However, Jennie revealed that she is not usually the type to send repeated messages when someone does not respond.

When asked whether she would text again after receiving no reply, Jennie said, “I don’t even text first.”

She continued, “Unless it’s an emergency, sending two texts in a row is a really big move for me.”

Jennie also clarified that she understands when someone needs personal time.

She explained, “If he isn’t replying because of something personal, I respect that. I respect his time. But updating the Facebook status is absolutely not okay.”

Another dating situation involved noticing a boyfriend looking at her roommate in a way that felt uncomfortable.

Jennie responded, “Always confront it. That’s what I think. Your boyfriend looking at your roommate is not okay.”

When she was then asked whether she had ever lived with an attractive roommate herself, Jennie chose to keep the answer private and joked, “Let’s stop here.”

Jennie also shared that she prefers relationships that begin as friendships rather than love at first sight.

She explained, “I think starting as friends creates something special.”

Her playful but direct answers gave fans another glimpse into how she approaches dating, communication, and personal boundaries.
