SBS drama Flex X Cop 2 is showing early signs of momentum as Ahn Bo Hyun and Jung Eun Chae’s new partnership helped the second episode reach a peak rating of 9%.
According to Nielsen Korea, the August 8 broadcast recorded a peak rating of 9%. The episode also earned 6.8% in the Seoul metropolitan area, marking a new personal best for the drama in that region.
Among viewers aged 20 to 49, the episode reached a peak rating of 2.5%. The nationwide rating came in at 5.8%, slipping 0.3 percentage points from the previous episode.
Episode 2 mainly followed wealthy detective Jin Yi Soo, played by Ahn Bo Hyun, as he continued investigating a dangerous case alongside anti-terrorism specialist Joo Hye Ra, played by Jung Eun Chae. Their investigation brought several tense moments while also showing more of the pair’s contrasting personalities.
Without revealing major spoilers, the episode wrapped up the case while setting up an important change in Jin Yi Soo and Joo Hye Ra’s working relationship.
One of the lighter moments came when Jin Yi Soo reacted to an unexpected development by saying, “This is a nightmare.” Joo Hye Ra quickly replied, “It’s reality. Looking forward to working with you.”
The exchange teased more of their tense but humorous chemistry as the two prepare to work even more closely together.
Flex X Cop 2 follows Jin Yi Soo, a wealthy detective who uses his resources in unconventional ways, and new team leader Joo Hye Ra as they take on increasingly complicated cases. The second season premiered on August 7.
