BLACKPINK’s Jisoo personally apologized to fans after concerns were raised over how the group’s 10th debut anniversary event was organized.
On August 8, Jisoo shared a message through a fan communication platform, saying that the anniversary came with mixed emotions for her.
She wrote, “I think today is a day when I feel especially sorry.”
Reflecting on BLACKPINK’s decade-long journey, Jisoo said, “Before I knew it, 10 years have passed since I debuted as BLACKPINK.”
She continued, “During those 10 years, there were many things that happened as BLACKPINK and as Jisoo, but I always wanted to show you my best side and be someone who could bring happiness during difficult moments.”
Jisoo said she felt concerned after seeing that many BLINKs were disappointed about the anniversary arrangements.
She wrote, “My heart feels heavy because many BLINKs are upset. I wanted to tell you that I have never forgotten that BLINKs are the reason BLACKPINK has been able to shine like this.”
Jisoo then directly apologized, saying, “Thank you for celebrating our 10th anniversary, and I’m sorry once again for causing you such disappointment.”
She added, “I always want to say thank you and that I love you. I know your disappointment may be great, but I hope there is still a small space where my sincere feelings can reach you.”
The message came after some fans expressed concerns about BLACKPINK’s anniversary event. YG Entertainment announced the event two days before the anniversary and initially said that 40 paid platform subscribers would be invited.
Questions were also raised because the attendance of all four BLACKPINK members was not clearly confirmed when the event was first announced.
It was later confirmed that Jisoo, Jennie, Rosé, and Lisa would all attend the anniversary event together.
