BLACKPINK’s Jennie has earned her second music-show trophy with her latest single Less than a Lover.

On the August 6 broadcast of Mnet’s M Countdown, Jennie took first place without appearing on the program. The result also marked her second consecutive week at No. 1 on the show.

Less than a Lover has continued to perform strongly across major global charts. The song ranked No. 11 on Billboard’s Global Excl. U.S. chart and No. 26 on the Global 200.

It also reached No. 66 on Spotify’s Weekly Top Songs Global chart and entered the upper ranks of the platform’s Daily Top Songs charts in South Korea, Malaysia, and several other markets.

The single placed high on Apple Music’s Top Songs charts in Singapore, Cambodia, Laos, and other countries and regions. It also reached No. 1 on the iTunes Top Songs chart in 27 markets, including Vietnam, Chile, Indonesia, and Peru.

According to the report, this gave Less than a Lover the most No. 1 placements on iTunes among K-pop solo songs released in 2026.

The song has also gained attention in China after topping QQ Music, NetEase Cloud Music, and Kugou Music. It reportedly became the only female solo single released this year to receive a gold certification on QQ Music.

In South Korea, Less than a Lover reached No. 1 on the Bugs real-time chart, Apple Music’s Today’s Top 100: South Korea chart, and YouTube Korea’s trending videos chart. It also remained near the top of Melon’s Top 100 and Genie Music’s real-time chart.

Jennie participated in writing and composing Less than a Lover. The alternative pop track describes the excitement and lingering emotions of a relationship that exists somewhere between friendship and romance.

Its lo-fi guitar, vintage electric keyboard, and relaxed sound were designed to create the dreamy feeling of a summer night.

Jennie is also set to continue her international festival activities with an upcoming appearance at Japan’s Summer Sonic 2026.
