G-Dragon’s agency has shared an update on its legal response to online posts that allegedly harmed the singer’s reputation and rights.
On August 4, Galaxy Corporation released an official statement explaining the progress of cases involving false claims, insulting comments, malicious criticism, privacy violations, and other potentially unlawful online activity involving G-Dragon.
The agency stated, “To protect the reputation and rights of our artist G-Dragon, we have continued to take legal action against defamation, the distribution of false information, insults, malicious criticism, and violations of personal and privacy rights online.”
According to the company, evidence collected through fan reports and its own monitoring was used to file complaints against approximately 100 people who allegedly created or spread harmful posts.
Galaxy Corporation explained, “Many cases are currently being handled by investigative agencies and courts. In some cases, the allegations were recognized, and the suspects were sent to prosecutors or brought to criminal trial.”
The agency added that courts had issued summary orders requiring several defendants to pay fines ranging from 2 million won to 7 million won. Prosecutors have also requested financial penalties in separate cases.
The company said these results show that people using anonymous accounts may still be identified through investigations and could face legal consequences.
It stated, “We will continue to hold those involved responsible based on the evidence already secured, and we will quickly take necessary legal action against newly identified unlawful activity.”
Galaxy Corporation noted that identifying anonymous users and completing legal proceedings can take considerable time. It also said that only limited information can be shared because detailed disclosures could affect ongoing investigations and court cases.
The agency confirmed that it continues to monitor domestic and international online communities, portal sites, social media platforms, and video-sharing services for harmful content, including false claims, insults, and inappropriate remarks.
It concluded, “We are taking all available civil and criminal legal measures against newly identified violations. For unlawful acts that cause serious harm to the artist, we will respond firmly under a zero-tolerance policy without settlement or special consideration.”
