Ok Taecyeon has shared the unexpected story behind his special appearance with So Ji Sub in the SBS drama Agent Kim Reactivated.
During a recent episode of Na Young Suk’s YouTube show Wagle Wagle, the producer praised Taecyeon for staying positive and working hard even in difficult situations.
Taecyeon explained that this attitude began during his trainee years.
“Park Jin Young always told us that when we were not good enough, we had to work even harder. I think that mindset became very strong in me,” he said.
Na Young Suk then brought up Taecyeon’s surprise appearance in Agent Kim Reactivated and mentioned reports that the filming had been physically demanding.
“You suddenly appeared in Agent Kim Reactivated with So Ji Sub. I heard you went through a lot during filming, and I also heard that So Ji Sub apologized to you,” he said.
Taecyeon played down the story and explained that he had agreed to appear before receiving many details about the role.
“My agency head called and asked, ‘Would you like to make a special appearance? It is a project with Ji Sub.’ I did not know what the role was, but I immediately said yes,” he recalled.
However, the filming conditions were different from what he expected.
“I later found out that I was playing a North Korean soldier. Then I learned that we had to travel to Geoje Island for filming,” Taecyeon said.
He continued, “After that, I discovered that we would be filming inside a pit filled with water. I did not have much information at the beginning.”
Despite the surprise, Taecyeon said he still enjoyed the experience.
“The only difference was whether I knew about it before going or not. It was still fun,” he shared.
In a previously released behind-the-scenes video, So Ji Sub expressed concern after seeing how difficult Taecyeon’s cameo scenes were.
“We invited a cameo for a role that was far too difficult,” So Ji Sub said apologetically.
Taecyeon made a brief but memorable appearance as Park Young Kwang, a former colleague connected to So Ji Sub’s character, Kim Bu Jang.
