BTS member Jungkook has set another major record with his first solo album, GOLDEN.
The album has now spent 142 consecutive weeks on Spotify’s Weekly Top Albums Global chart, becoming the first and longest charting album by an Asian solo artist.
For the chart dated July 17 to 23, GOLDEN ranked No. 152. The album has also surpassed 7.3 billion total streams on Spotify, the highest cumulative streaming total for a studio album by an Asian artist.
GOLDEN also returned to the Worldwide iTunes Albums chart at No. 135 on July 28. It has spent a total of 522 days on the chart.
Since its release, the album has reached No. 1 on iTunes album charts in 106 countries and regions. It also stayed at No. 1 on the Worldwide iTunes Albums chart for 14 days and topped the European iTunes Albums chart for more than seven days.
In the United Kingdom, GOLDEN became the first album by a K pop solo artist to remain on the Official Albums Chart Top 100 for eight weeks.
The album has reportedly reached 11 million equivalent album sales, allowing Jungkook to maintain his position as the best selling K pop solo artist based on that measure.
Jungkook’s personal Spotify profile has also surpassed 11.2 billion streams across all credited songs. He became the fastest Asian artist and the first K pop solo artist to reach the milestone.
