Actor Jung Il Woo has officially joined Galaxy Corporation as he prepares to expand his activities in the global entertainment market.

On July 29, the entertainment technology company announced that it had signed an exclusive contract with Jung Il Woo. The agency said the partnership would mark “a new step forward in his global activities.”

Jung Il Woo made his acting debut in the 2006 MBC sitcom Unstoppable High Kick. He later built a strong acting career through popular projects such as Moon Embracing the Sun, The Night Watchman’s Journal, and Cinderella and the Four Knights.

The actor also maintains a large international following. He has around 14.5 million followers on Weibo and millions of additional followers across other social media platforms. He has developed a strong fan base in several Asian countries, including Japan and Vietnam.

Jung Il Woo recently appeared as the mysterious character Takigawa in the Amazon Prime original series Criminal, which was released worldwide on July 17. According to the report, the series remained No. 1 in its viewing rankings for three consecutive weeks following its release.

Galaxy Corporation CEO Choi Yong Ho described Jung Il Woo as a Korean Wave actor who has received support across Asia for many years.

He stated, “Jung Il Woo is a global Korean Wave actor who has been loved throughout Asia for a long time and is also a highly competitive intellectual property.”

He continued, “Galaxy Corporation will go beyond traditional artist management and work with Jung Il Woo to present a new global entertainment model combining content, technology, and brand business.”

Galaxy Corporation is expanding its entertainment division by combining artificial intelligence, robotics, technology, and artist content. The company plans to develop its artists’ brands through AI content, global fan platforms, commerce, and other entertainment projects.

Jung Il Woo joins a growing lineup that includes G Dragon, Song Kang Ho, Taemin, Kim Jong Kook, Ryu Jun Yeol, and baseball player Lee Jung Hoo.

The agency added, “We plan to continue expanding a future entertainment system that combines global artist intellectual property with physical AI technology, content, technology, and commerce.”
