Actor Choi Dae Hoon is celebrating the success of Agent Kim Reactivated after the SBS action drama wrapped up with its highest ratings yet, while reflecting on the overwhelming response from viewers.
According to Nielsen Korea, the finale of Agent Kim Reactivated, which aired on July 25, recorded a nationwide rating of 23.0% and a peak rating of 27.1%.
The series also ranked No. 1 in its time slot across all channels for all 10 episodes, ending its run as one of the biggest drama hits of the year.
Following the finale, Choi Dae Hoon shared his thoughts on the drama's remarkable performance, admitting that the achievement still feels hard to believe.
"I really can't tell whether this is reality or not," he said. "It feels like someone else's story that I've only seen on TV. It feels like someone is secretly filming a prank show."
In the final episode, Choi Dae Hoon's character, Sung Han Soo, was forced into a difficult confrontation while trying to protect his family. Without revealing major story details, the actor once again showcased the balance of emotional acting, friendship, fatherhood, and action that made the character popular throughout the series.
When asked what he focused on while portraying Sung Han Soo, Choi Dae Hoon explained that teamwork between the three main characters was the heart of the story.
"The focus was on the unity of the three friends," he shared. "How they become one and devote themselves to achieving a single goal."
The actor also spoke about the drama's themes of friendship and family, saying those emotions came naturally rather than requiring special preparation.
"If you have children or true friends, those feelings naturally grow within you," he said, adding that working alongside his fellow cast members made the experience even more meaningful.
Choi Dae Hoon also praised co-stars So Ji Sub and Yoon Kyung Ho, describing their teamwork as one built on mutual respect.
"We respected one another, and it was a relationship where we helped and completed each other," he said.
Looking ahead, Choi Dae Hoon confirmed that his next project will be ENA's upcoming romance comedy Fascinating Romance, where he is set to show a different side of his acting following the massive success of Agent Kim Reactivated.
