Actress Ha Young is gaining attention once again after delivering an emotional performance in Netflix’s “Teach You a Lesson”.
In the series, Ha Young plays Choi Ga Yoon, a caring teacher who tries to protect her students and follow her beliefs despite the difficult reality inside the school system.
Choi Ga Yoon is also connected to two important characters. She is the fiancée of Na Hwa Jin, played by Kim Mu Yeol, and the daughter of Education Minister Choi Kang Seok, played by Lee Sung Min.
Although Ha Young has limited screen time, her character plays an important role in setting the main story in motion. The actress carefully shows Choi Ga Yoon’s warmth, sense of responsibility, and conflict between her ideals and reality.
Her controlled emotional performance also adds weight to the drama’s message about school violence, teachers’ rights, and the challenges facing public education.
“Teach You a Lesson” has received strong attention in South Korea and overseas. After its release, the series ranked No. 1 on Netflix’s Top 10 series list in South Korea and also reached the top of the global non English TV chart.
Ha Young previously gained international recognition for playing nurse Cheon Jang Mi in Netflix’s “The Trauma Code: Heroes on Call”. Her new role in “Teach You a Lesson” shows a more serious and emotional side of her acting.
The actress is also preparing to show another transformation in her upcoming Netflix series “Our Sticky Love”.
