Psy has drawn attention for his high praise of i-dle member Soyeon and her skills as a music producer.
During the July 14 broadcast of SBS PowerFM’s “Cultwo Show,” TVXQ’s U-Know Yunho shared comments that Psy had reportedly made about Soyeon. i-dle appeared as guests on the program’s “Summer Music Festa” special alongside BTOB’s Minhyuk and Bada.
The i-dle members also discussed performing at “Psy’s Summer Swag” for the third time. They explained that Psy personally invited them back after receiving strong reactions from audiences during their previous appearances.
“Psy personally invited us,” the members said. “He told us that the response was very good every time we performed and asked us to return, so we were very thankful.”
Soyeon has also worked with Psy’s girl group Baby DONT Cry by creating the group’s debut song, further showing her growing presence as a producer.
U-Know Yunho then revealed Psy’s praise for Soyeon.
He shared, “Psy said, ‘Soyeon is a true ace among the next generation of musicians. When I watch her produce music, I get the same feeling I had when I first saw Zico.’”
The comparison gained attention because both Soyeon and Zico are widely recognized for taking an active role in writing, producing, and shaping the musical direction of their work.
Psy’s comments highlighted Soyeon’s growing reputation not only as an i-dle member and performer, but also as one of the leading producers among the new generation of K-pop artists.
